Affiliate & partner disclosure

Effective 2026-10-24.

Trámite CR is free, and we'd like to keep it that way. When you book or buy through some of our links, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. That keeps the tools free. Thank you!

Affiliate and sponsored links

Some links on the site may be affiliate or sponsored links. If you click one and buy or book something, we may earn a commission or fee. You pay the same price you would anyway. These links are marked rel="sponsored" and labelled "affiliate link" where they appear. For example, our Discover Cars link for comparing car rentals and our GetYourGuide link for tours and activities are affiliate links.

Featured partners

The calculators may show a "Featured partner" spot, for example a customs broker, car shipper or insurance broker. Those businesses pay for the placement. Being featured isn't an endorsement or a guarantee from us, so do compare before you choose. Want to be featured? Get in touch.

Wheels Down Concierge

Wheels Down Concierge is our partner in Guanacaste and provides the paid services offered on the site (marchamo, Dekra, import paperwork). We always say so clearly wherever they appear.

What doesn't change

• The calculators and tables are based on official data (Hacienda, INS, Sugese, MOPT/COSEVI, ARESEP, Dekra), each with its source and date. No partner pays to change a figure.
• They are still informational, unofficial estimates: always check the exact amount at the official source before paying. See the Terms & Disclaimer.
• The data stays licensed CC BY 4.0, with attribution to "Trámite CR (tramitecr.com)".
